RK3399 and RK3288 are open-sourced for hundred kinds of industries!
2017-03-21
Rockchip flagship chip RK3399 system platform was announced to open source last month for hundred kinds of applications. This strategy has influenced the whole semiconductor industry.
Compared with RK3399, RK3288, positioned in middle and high-end market, is the earliest open-sourced chip of Rockchip. RK3288 is open-sourced for hundred kinds of industries and have a pretty big industry and market scale.
For Performance, RK3288 is based on 28nm HKMG process. The processor adopts Quad-core ARM Cortex-A17, up to1.8 GHz. DDR controller is dual-channel 64 bits DDR3 / DDR3L / LPDDR2 design. GPU adopts Mali - T7 series, up to 600 MHz. RK3288 is built into the 2D/3D graphics GPU acceleration processor, perfectly support OpenGL ES, OpenCL 1.1/2.0/3.1 DirectX9.3.In terms of the 3D effect, comparing with similar products, RK3288 has larger improvement. RK3288 also supports all mainstream video formats decoding, supports H. 265 and 4Kx2K resolution video decoding.
For interface, RK3288 has a variety of high-speed display output interface abundant peripheral interface support ability, such as dual LVDS, dual MIPI - DSI, eDP1.1, HDMI 2.0, etc., and supports embedded 13 m ISP dual MIPI - CSI2.
In order to provide open source support for developers and the industry, RK3288 is open to all code for product level. Same as RK3399, Rockchip also provide instant technical support on the open source community.
